Cracker Barrel is on the search for a Director of Catering to join us at our Home Office in Lebanon, TN. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team responsible for growing our catering business. You will need to lay out a multi-year plan that includes menu enhancements, pricing, promotional support, channel growth, awareness, etc. You will also collaborate cross-functionally with operations and IT on tactical execution issue resolution, and FP&A and Marketing on strategic planning. The ideal candidate has had proven success building a robust catering business.


  • Builds the catering multi-year growth strategy which will include menu enhancements, pricing, promotional support, channel growth, awareness, etc.
  • Develops and leads annual, quarterly, and monthly catering sales & promotional planning.
  • Benchmarks best-in-class catering programs and leads efforts to build an industry leading business
  • Evaluates, prioritizes, and leads initiatives to enhance the profitability and reach of our catering initiative.
  • Acts as the face of the catering business for Cracker Barrel and can clearly articulate a holistic strategy, the status, and next steps at an executive level.
  • Leverages consumer insights and internal data to capitalize on emerging trends


  • Must have experience leading the growth and development of a national catering business.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Draws upon a solid understanding of the business (e.g. industry, operations) to critically evaluate and advance sales a profit, while responsibly managing a fixed budget.
  • Leverages project management skills to achieve results on time and on budget
  • Experience with OLO and Third Party Delivery Providers is preferred
  • Detail oriented, especially in analytical thinking and reporting
  • Familiarity with product development processes, market research, and agile project management preferred
  • Ability to build relationships quickly, and comfort interacting at all levels of the organization
  • Above average presentation skills, confident in front of groups of 20 or more.
  • Proven leadership ability in a matrixed role, leading without authority.
  • Passion for the hospitality industry
  • Expertise utilizing Office365 (especially Excel and Powerpoint), in addition to being able to manage virtual and hybrid meetings is a MUST
